Ole Victoria
Posted by Kurt Maurer on Apr 23, 2004
My folks landed at Indianola in 1846, then settled in the Raisin/Colettoville area between Victoria and Goliad. My grandparents lived in town (Pawpaw had a barber shop on the corner of Juan Lynn and Liberty), and I spent the summers of my youth there with them. I still love Victoria... used to have the finest Texican food outside of old San Antone, and the sausage at Neumann's was so good it would make you weep... still brings a tear to my eye to think about!
Charlie, where in Vic is your shop?? I know the town well; a street addy will do me.
Port Lavaca... "Home of the Fighting Sandcrabs". REALLY!! LOL LOL LOL I always felt a little sorry for the high school kids in that town!!!
Sorry, folks. But Victoria is HOME to me in a big way. I love thinking about 'er.
Cheers, Kurt
