Big Little Boat Festival Race & Rendezvous Day

Location: Camp Wabanna - Edgewater, Maryland
Dates: Saturday, May 22, 2021

Over the last 21 years, we've shown that CLC's Small Boat Retreat offers boaters the opportunity to expand their seamanship and to enjoy the Bay in small, engineless boats. In years to come, we want to make this event a cultural hub to support the passions of small boat enthusiasts from all over the country.

Plan to spend Saturday with us at the beautiful Camp Wabanna campus just south of Annapolis. Centered at the intersection of the Rhode and West Rivers, there will be plenty of space to launch your boat, enjoy time on the water exploring, and to participate in our new Expedition Race Series or Boat Parade.

Bring your boat or paddleboard to race in 1-, 3-, or 8-mile races for paddlers (seated and standing), rowers, and sailors, or try your luck on the 20-mile race!

Got a beautiful home-built boat? Bring it to participate in the afternoon boat parade, or just show it off on the lawn -- prizes for the best work!

Did you just finish building your boat? Join in the celebration of the Maiden Voyage Launch on Saturday morning.

Don't have a home-built boat? No worries! Bring what you have and play on the water with other small-boat enthusiasts, and join the afternoon parade. There wll be plenty of space to launch your boat, and all types (and construction materials) are welcome.  The camp offers easy beach access for launching; one of the reasons we like this location so much.  Clean out the spiderwebs, wash it up and meet us at the beach!

There's also ample room for camping in tents and small campers. Friday and/or Saturday night camping will be available.  The snack bar will be open for yummy lunch options on Saturday, and there is a big playground available for the kids.

Due to pandemic restrictions, our boats will not be on site or available for demos and we will not be presenting our usual seminars this year. We plan to reintroduce both of these elements in 2022.

Join the Rendezvous! Bring Your Boat for Best In Show Competition & Parade.
