Big Congrats to David K. of Midlothian, VA, whose photo was voted the best of 2020 in our annual contest!

David wins a $1000 CLC gift card.

Each month we ask you to send us your best photos of Chesapeake Light Craft designs, and you've sent us hundreds of amazing shots. We award $150 gift cards to the monthly first-placers, and the big $1000 to the annual winner. So far, we've given away $16.000 for these great images.

Each month we ask you to vote on your favorites, and the top three (or sometimes four, in case of a tie) are put into the running for the overall annual winner.

Finally, during January, you voted for your favorite of the monthly winners. It was a tough competition this year with so many terrific images, but the votes are in and here are the results. (Click images to enlarge.)

Annapolis Wherry by David K.

Our top finisher in the annual contest, David's photo of his beautiful Annapolis Wherry, with daughter Natalie at the oars, also was a winner in the November voting. This pretty image is set in a picturesque view of Swift Creek Reservoir near David's Virginia home. Congratulations, David, and thanks -- we love this image as much as the voters did.

Lighthouse Tender Peapod by Craig P.

Voters also loved this colorful view of his Lighthouse Tender Peapod from Craig P. of Swarthmore, PA, at Flagstaff Lake in Maine, and it's easy to see why. This image also brought in a lot of votes, and it's easy to see why. Craig claims this is his his first build -- which is also impressive.

Skerry by John T.

Another popular finisher was this peaceful scene featuring a Skerry built by John T. of Duluth, MN. While the breeze may not have been much for sailing, conditions were perfect for this portrait on Lake Superior. "A breathlessly calm day, but she ghosted along even so," John reported.

Our staff agreed with the top selections, but this misty view of his Skerry from Mark L. of Chevy Chase, MD, also was one of our favorites.

Wood Duckling by Cade P.

Kids, dogs, great scenery and a handsome boat: of course this fine shot from Cade P. of Reno, NV, celebrating the last day of 7th grade last spring in the Wood Duckling 8 built by his mother, also was a strong contender.

Little Auk 11 by David R.

This classic portrait of his Little Auk 11 by David R. of Cazenovia, NY (above), also earned a sizeable share of the votes, as did this equally classic view of her Shearwater 17 Hybrid by Nicole N. of Seattle, WA (below).

Thanks to everyone who participated, with photos, and with votes. The 2021 Photo Contest is OPEN! Cast your votes for the latest submissions, and keep sending us your best images. You, too, could win either our $150 monthly gift card prize, or the big annual award of $1000! Or BOTH!
