Thanks, I didn't realize the copper wire would sand away so easily. It does indeed look like a boat now!
I'm using a Porter Cable orbital sander. CLC recommended 80 grit for the initial light sanding and then 220 or so for the next. I'm painting the hull so I've gone ahead and filled the areas between panels with more fillet material to make glassing it go better. now I just need time and a sunny day :-)
