No sweat, Joe. Just get the whole thing epoxied, with at least one fill coat over the fiberglass (so you can sand and apply more when you get back to it). The epoxy will survive just fine for a week - and much longer. Ask Kurt - he went months without paint or varnish, and his Mill Creek is among the finest-looking you'll ever see. I did the same with mine, although, not for as long.
