I'm not much of an engineer, but always felt this part of the PMD had the most likelhood of failure, especially when asked to support the concievable stresses of rowing with 7' oars. For that reason, I always took it extra easy, but it was to no avail and yesterday I winced at the sound of this oar lock riser breaking.  I know I am not the first one to encounter this issue and appreciate any tips to repair and reinforce these mounts.
