I am finishing my build of the Expedition Skerry. I have the 2 part rudder hung but can forsee problems raising and lowering the lower rudder. I've noted that John recommends using a star knob to tighted the rudder together. This might work on the regular Skerry but the Expedition has a stern deck that prohibits reaching over to tighten the rudder to lower or raise it. I'm thinking of how best to rig up some kind of up and down haul lines to the aft deck to the lower rudder part. Anyone else solved this problem? ( I do know that the old Skerry plans call for a line threaded through the rudder cheeks to up haul it up ... but John recommends the Star knob or now...not possible to reach with my 77 year old body and no way now to thread a line through the cheeks) Pictures or drawing would help.
