Can someone please enlighten me on gluing the strips to the stems? In my Canoecraft it shows the inner stem with glue but the stem is wrapped in tape to prevent the strip from sticking to the stem. Some words of enlightenment here would be very appreciated. Thanks for your time. Just received my strips from CLC and am anxious to get started.

RE: Gluing strips to stems
As hspira suggests, watch Nick's videos. Here are a couple pictures from my Mystery. First is bow from and internal stem ready to go on strongback. Second shows tape covering form to keep glue off. There is one piece of tape on stem to hold it in place that will be removed before a strip covers that location.

There is typically a part of the stem and stern (the outermost edge) that gets built into the boat. The rest is protected by tape. See the YouTube videos on nick schaded guillemot site on building a strip kayak and you will see what I mean https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://m.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DONZ7gSBRb78&ved=2ahUKEwihzZO8iOrjAhWUnp4KHWajBY8QwqsBMA56BAgEEBA&usg=AOvVaw36HaisYoSOfxKgsjxg6Ksm
