Anyone mount a Guzzler bilge pump in the Dory
I was wondering if anyone has ever mounted a Guzzler bilge pump in one of their boats, and if so, their thoughts? I used to have one of these on a sailboat and it worked great, sure beat a bucket and takes up about as much space and doesn't roll around.

Thanks, Birch, I didn't think so but I have one laying around the house from my old boat and thought, um, maybe it would be useful.

When I first put my dory together I put a drain plug in the bottom aft of seat 3. This past spring I put one in the transom. Draining the boat is no problem after washing or rain. My thought on the bilge pump is that it is a hazard to step on while using the boat. I haven't taken on any measurable water while rowing or sailing and I only do shallow water boarding. Certainly a bilge pump is a great safety feature when it is placed properly and not in the way.

I doubt you'll need a bilge pump. I rarely need anything more than a sponge.
