Good youth Kayak?

As I'm building my Cape Charles 17' and my daughter keeps asking me when I'm going to build one for her. She paddled a small rubber kayak our friend had this summer and loved it. She said she would like to have one to go paddling with me. So what is a good youth kayak that will grow with her for a few years? She will be 7 years old in December. I have a 4 year old son, so the plan would be when he is old enough to paddle he would get it from her. I would like to build one but I bet if I add up the cost it's probably cheaper to just buy a cheap plastic one. Thanks for you input.
