If you are looking for UV protection the satin has none. For UV protection, a couple of coats of standard varnish followed by the satin. Sand the area several times starting with 120 and work your way up to 220. After that you're ready to varnish. The fisheyes need to be sanded out and the contamination that caused them cleaned. The cockpit is a great place to pratice your varnish skills before you get to the good stuff.
