I've built 2 Ch16's - as per the instructions I taped and fibreglassed the cockpits. I'm currently working on a Mill Creek and taking a different option - taping the forward and aft bulkhead areas and just glassing the cockpit area - no tape. I think it should result in an easier and more attractive smooth job. I would definitely fibreglass the decks, hatch covers and coaming with 4oz.
