Hey garagegirl, I guess it depends on what type of look you are going for. I didnt want the screw/bolts to be visible from the outside. Also didnt want to drill through the hull. I installed my black plastic braces by drilling some blocks of wood blosk to match the curvature of the end of the foot brace. I then slightly increased a little of the screw hole in the brace to countersink the mounting screw. Then I glued the blocks into place, after they were dry I simply screwed the braces on to the blocks. The braces are removable, I have no sharp screws to cut my feet, and no holes in the hull.
