final finish
Posted by Karl on Mar 10, 2005
Folks, once again I would like to tap into the collective brain trust available at my fingertips here. What methods have people used for their final finish? I tossed around ideas like 4/0 steel wool followed by a coat of good wax such as I'd use on the furniture I've built. I've also considered a light wetsand with 400-600 grit followed by a light weight professional rubbing compound (hand rubbed, I don't trust my power buffing abilities enough to prevent burning the finish), then wax (autobody style). What works for you?
