I've been using CLC covers for several years and several thousand miles. Literally. Been all over the east coast and even to Texas (twice) and never had a problem. My WR 18 cover is getting a bit worn, I'll admit. When I strap my boats down I run the forward Thule strap thru the loop just to make sure it stays with me if it should blow off. Never had one try to leave. The flapping is minimalized by the security cable that wraps around the boat and over the cockpit while on the road. All in all much easier to mess with than taping something over the coaming every time I travel.
