I have built a boat design for glued lapstrake, wasn't any too certain I had the ability, tools or materials to do so at the time (forget which was the biggest determining factor). So I built it cedar strip, 15.5' X 42". I had to build forms, strongback, the whole 9 yards. I still have that boat since '86 and don't know as I can part with her. She can handle far worse weather than I can and she has proven herself in that respect. Did I tell you she is a rowing boat; fixed seat, sockets are solid ash blocks with custom made bronze cast oarlocks.
