Re: Ply thickness substit

The plans call for 9mm marine ply for the hull bottom, seats, dagger-board, and transom. The remainder is 6mm. I have recently finished building a Jimmy Skiff, and would not recommend using 1/4" ply throughout, especially if it is not a quality marine plywood. As designed, this is already a very light boat for its size. I would be very concerned that using thinner and weaker plywood would result in a hull that may not take the stresses placed upon it.
