I agree with all the above. I used to row competitively at college level. I love wood, and wooden boats. BUT. That... thing... is not a good use of wood. Those arms are beautiful. BUT. the wooden slide box is wood, BUT...

At the end of the day, its important to trust your eyes, and your guts. The mostly-metal Piantedosi or Alden are clearly superior. .
