E-glass is the regular kind. S-glass is stronger, gives more abrasion resistance, and costs quite a bit more.

Dunno about MAS, but I love my Silvertip. It wets out fast, is very transparent, has good temperature tolerance, and sticks like crazy. It's extremely difficult to get if off my plastic spreaders if I neglect to clean them.
