Buy a motorcycle - a sport bike, one with a hitch for a small trailer. Get a trailer for the kayak, load the kayak. Take a trip to a wet spot you have always wanted to visit and paddle in. Allow yourself two weeks for ahhhhhh, decompression time. You've earned it...you have! The fam can use the time to recollect their wits after your college time...hey, they need this decompression time, too!

Well, that's my advice.
