Yeah, that's what I am worried about, but I am going to test-drive it on a scrap anyway. The stencil paint is something you stipple onto the surface with a stiff brush and you can control the amount of paint on the surface very easily. I am hoping that if I restrict myself to "tinting" the wood rather than coating and sealing it I can leave enough of the wood's pores open to get a good bond with the epoxy anyway.
