Just launched my new Chester Yawl (see Okumefest thread - sailing conversion) and found my inexperience at rowing made worse by the fact that the pretty leather oar collars (sold by CLC and installed on oars bought at CLC and used in oarlocks supplied as part of the boat kit) kept slipping thru the oarlocks - but never seemed to go back as easily.
The fix: Added another strip of leather over the first one to increase the diameter of the "stop ring".
A suggestion if these are custom made for CLC: Either get thicker leather for the stop strips or make the pieces twice as long.
