Chris, I built my first stich and glue kayak last year so I am not an expert but...I did have a much easier time getting a smooth hull than interior and the boat came out looking marvelous. As usual Terry et al give great tips. Work in small batches and keep a friend around to mix em' up and keep em comming for you if possible. Just so long as they take their mixing seriously. Wetting out the hull and deck glass with a squeegee was much easier for me than filleting and taping. Figuring out how many coats to fill the weave can be a bit difficult. Check the shop notes/tips for building at this web site for some good info on that.
