MKII Ama question

OK...AMA time is coming up and I dont want the beam-like ama shape but a more "wing-like" foil shape.

Im looking in my head at something 4" wide and about a 1/2" thick of laminated spruce strips.

John Harris - what do you think about his idea? I know the present amas are all that, but I want a sleeker wing shape. For a 4" width is my 1/2" thickness right - too much - too little - too heavy?
