GraPHITE pOWDER/ePOXY
Posted by Robert N Pruden on Jun 18, 2005
Oops, that was my caps button depressed.
If I were you I'd coat the bottom with a layer of graphite powder/epoxy using 10% by volume graphite to epoxy. The graphite will strengthen your hulls ability to withstand abrasion damage. I use it on my boat and literally put my boat through hell and back without major damage - at least not till the end of the year. The graphite really does work. It will turn the bottom of your boat black since it is a pigmenting material. Coat the entire bottom with three layers of the mixture and you'll have a nicely protected boat that you don't have to worry about every time you launch/land, at least not itll the end of the year.
