Hatch radii

Here's a question which should be easy for someone to answer please. I've made up my forward and aft hatches for my CH Lt17, and as instructed have intalled frames with 16 inch (fwd) and 24 inch (aft) radii. However the aft deck has a 49 inch radius, so the aft hatch stands considerably proud at the centreline. I'm thinking of re-making the aft hatch to a 49 inch radius so that it sits flush. Am I off tack?
