I didn't glass the deck of my Chesapeake 17 and wish I did. I mostly use the boat for fishing, and the stress on the rod holders from trolling caused cracks in the deck. Reinforcing the cracked areas with glass under the deck solved the problem, but it would have been nice to avoid it in the first place.
