Now It Works

Gavin,

Shoot all day and hope for one keeper is the rule for all photographers (including National Geographic guys where it's more like "shoot all year").

I'm doing the same thing on film, and am famous for the landfill sites named after me.

If you consider yourself a "novice", just take another look at the composition of your shots (especially the harbour photo), realize that you're a natural, and carry on!
