I went back and reviewed the CLC layout in shop tips on this site and found that the layout is a good one although I think that I've improved it somewhat.
The most critical area is behind the cockpit for the paddle float re-entry hold down. The attachment points must be far enough apart to allow the paddle blade to be slid under the rigging. In addition I double up on the bongie cord along the gunnels.
I also double the bongie cords closest to the cockpit in front of the cockpit and on the spare paddle hold down area.
