I cut a piece of plywood in half lengthwise and stiffened each half with 2x4s. I let the ends of the plywood overlap the end of one "table" and left it short on the other so they could be joined and still have the top be flush. It worked quite well - I just finished two boats on it.

So, two feet wide. Fit nicely on a pair of saw horses.
