The Home Stretch

The final push is on! I have 4 coats of paint on the hull and 2 coats of varnish on the deck and the craft looks simply magnificient! I could use a few final finish pointers from the experts on the following:

+ I have had some varnish seep onto the point slightly in some areas that I did not notice when I pulled the tape and cleaned up. The next day I was able to remove with Lacquer Thinner and a little rubbing but this was deglossed my trim paint in spots. Is there a way to bring back the shine in these areas?

+ After wet sanding, is washing with soap and water enough or should I wipe down with lacquer thinner as well?

+ In fitting my backband, the bugee is long enough to place it several inches in front of the coaming. I think I just need to retie the bungee shorter. What do you find is a comfortable position?

Thanks for the help. I plan on posting a pic next week when the boat gets wet ;-)
