there was a thread I read about a fellow bemoaning the gel coat cracks in his QCC 700 that had gel coat cracks behind the aft hatch from cowbow rescues. His technique was rough,,and yes the decks on some glass boats can be flexible in some areas. Kurt, you've got it right,,technique and knowing where the strong points are. That's why some British boats are built like tanks with decks made out of cheap chopped mat glass. There has been a steady evolution in American designs using corematerials to stiffen thin flexible fiberglass.
