Center of Gravity

Steve,

Saw a post a while ago from an experienced group kayaker/camper who mentioned four folks carrying very heavily loaded yaks - as a broken boat in the middle of a trip would be dire. One at each end two each side of the coaming.

As you are only packing a bit of cargo split for and aft, and packed close to the bulkheads I'd imagine, why not try finding the center of gravity along the coaming and carrying with your lady, one on each side?

Just a thought.
