CLC Strip Planked Deck
Posted by Paddler on May 21, 2004
Hi All! There have been numerous posts on putting a strip planked deck on S&G boats. A lot of folks including yours truly have questions as to how this was done. I've posted pictures on the Mill Creek Journal website showing one form installed near the bow with the clamping. You need form per foot depending on the thickness of the strip planking. Thanks to CLC and the use of sheer clamps, this makes the use of a strongback something done on other types of yaks. This method also makes heavy use of the planing guides to get the shape of each form.
