Many thanks for your answers and advice. The CLC 17LT did not sink and neither will the Merganser 16 which is a very good looking boat. It amazes me the different types of joints and shear clamps(gunnels)there are. I do plan to take the "after hour" boat building course offered at the Cape Fear Community College here in Wilmington, NC. Runs from Aug '04 to May 05 3 times per week. I think the better idea was to use a glue gun and tack the fiberglass tape insides sparingly (tiny tiny dots) and tape the deck on. Then I would be out the fillets......but I could of folded the tape back on itself then add the fillet. Thats the ticket..Yea yea. I used the wire stitching method for the deck to stay on the hull. The hull still moved a little. Again many thanks.
