It ought to happen as quickly as it is ever going to happen. The sqeegee leaves schmoo in the pits, but minimizes leaving excess on the high spots. After all, it is the low spots that need it.
The window squeegee is probably working so well for Chip because of its relative flexibility. I'll be trying one soon on the hull of Leslie's Cormorant.
