Barry, Most kayaks are awfully narrow for oars. But it is done. In "Building Wood and Canvas Kayaks" George Putz shows a sliding seat and outrigger set on a kayak that was about 26" wide. The thing must fly but I assume from all the hardware involved it isn't cheap. Charlie
