Re: Satin Varnish

Terry, Do you have a brand name for the boat polish you use. I was going to spray my varnish on, but chickened out after a trial run on another project. It worked great on a square box, but then I got looking at the shape of a kayak, and lost confidence that I could spray evenly. (That and I varnished my hair, the insides of my nostrils, and had trouble sleeping with my eyelids varnished in the open position.) Anyway, I've just finished coat 3 of varnish by hand and plan on another 3 minimum. It's looking OK, but of course there's always a bit of dust or an imperfect stroke here, (an there an there an there), and I was thinking of buffing it up with an electric buffer to hide it all. I can borrow an automotive buffer, but am not sure what kind of compound to use. I used Epiphanes one part varnish.
