Dave Curtis, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, is the first home-builder to launch a completed PocketShip.

A retired teacher and first-time boatbuilder, Dave built his PocketShip from scratch, using just the plans and patterns.

It took him about seven months, and as you can see from the photos, he did a beautiful job.  He was able to get in a quick launch in icy weather in October before the Canadian prairie weather set in.

Dave kept a very complete online journal of his entire project here. Congrats, Dave!  Look forward to seeing you on the water in 2010---hopefully to join the estimated 20 PocketShips that are actively "in build."
