I am fitting the deck of my Shearwater 17 to the hull for the first time. I forgot to loosen the front bulk head and had to start all over but that is how it goes. Overall I am very pleased with the fit. There are a couple of areas where there ia about 1/8 of an inch, perhaps a little more, of overlap ( A little deck overhang at the bow and stern and some on the side panels where it meets the shear sides). Is this important ? I am assuming a lot of that gets planed over or sanded smooth at some stage. Thanks !
