So far I've used 3 methods for deck rigging

SW17h- nylon strapping screwed to the shearclamps (what came in the kit)

SW16h- flush recessed hold downs as sold by Eric Schade

Auk 14-thru the deck strapping ala Redfish kayaks

I've been thinking about asthetics vs serviceability. Since these boats need to be revarnished every few years what do people think is the easiest? So far for me the screwed on ones are easy, but not all boats have shearclamps.

Opinions?
