Stitching Chesapeake 17

I am building a Chesapeake 16 and 17 at the same time. The Chesapeake 16 stitched together without a problem, everything fit. In the Chesapeake 17 I have the bottom panels not lining up at the bow and stern. (pictures attached) And the bulkhead does not meet the bottom (pictures)

-Any suggestions? THANKS!pic 1pic 2

RE: Stitching Chesapeake 17

Everything looks like mine did at that stage except that the over hang was limited to the stern. Did you start at the bow stitching the bottom panels to the sides?  By starting at the bow you work the excess to the stern as noted in the instructions.  In the interest of full disclosure, this is my first boat build!

RE: Stitching Chesapeake 17

The bottom's not spread wide enough. Spread it out wider to fit the bulkhead and the excess at the bow & stern will be taken up.

If it doesn't want to spread out any more, the stitches are too tight. Loosen them up, maybe even remove a few (at least temporarily).
