Hello, I have just completed my Shearwater 16 hybrid and despite hosing down the garage and trying to remove all contaminants, I still have some specs in my finish. I have 5 coats on both the hull and the deck and really don't want to go any further. Its time to put this in the water. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could use to rub the specs out without dulling the finish?
Thanks

RE: Specs in Varnish

I suspect that most of us have specs in our varnish. I learned quickly not to try to get them out, or the little flies/knats out while the varnish is still wet. It just made things worse. My perspective now is just rub it down with a rag a few days latter and don't worry about it.
