Well, I cut my Shearwater 17 Hatches with what I thought was the correct template (hatch sill) and didnt even know of the hatch spacer untill I got to the Install Hatch Sill step.
So now I have a hatch that is to small for the current directions any suggestions? I am tempted to try anything and I need the hatches to actually be watertight. Thanks, its been a frustrating day.

I was planning on just resizing the doubling piece to make sure i have good contact with the foam (3/4" width of foam) and then resize the sill and spacer by cutting down the original to fit. I just want to make sure I still have a watertight hatch and wasnt sure if I could now swap for a plastic hatch but it seems these sizes dont compare to the plastics.

I would suggest making new hatch sills and spacers that fit your hatch covers. Scrap Okoume works fine for this.
