varnish rises when lacquer thinner applied?
Varnishing the hull after several years and put the first coat on, went to put the second coat on, washed it with water and dried with lacquer thinner and the first coat of varnish shriveled up and peeled off? What happened? Dawn

I'm using petit captain's 1015. Any recommendations? can i use brightsiide varnish on captain's?

Lacquer thinner reacted with the varnish. Just sand it down, and use regular mineral spirits or paint thinner to clean the surface. Preferably use the thinner that is specific to the varnish that you are using.
