So, say you wanted to build a canoe, you could take a trip on for several days/weeks/whatever... down rivers which could actually get slightly rough - nothing crazy, but where you might bang against some rocks, some light whitewhater,,, what would it be?

 And, where would you go?  This is a trip I'd like to take one day, and am gathering ideas.  This boatbuilding thing is new to me - I'm mainly a climber - been climbing for 14 years now - and combinging a canoe trip into some remote area to climb a big wall or put up a new route would be absolutely awesome.  Any suggestions?
