I painted my hull, one inch over the top and then taped off the painted part to varnish the deck. Everything look good except when I went to pull the tape off it appears to have left some tape-glue behind? I tried wiping off just with a dry rag and using my fingernail, however, it is not coming off easy. Any suggestions on how to get this off without ruining my paint finish?

RE: tape glue
Would test a small area with mineral spirits, being careful not to remove what you worked so hard to put on.

my expereince is that goo-gone is the best for removing tape goo without effecting the paint... but I agree with Dan that you should test first.
