I'm reading The New Kayak Workshop as I build a Westriver 180 and I've come across some conflicting information. It says to lay out all of the points at the stations and it must be exact. Then it goes on to say that it is okay if the batten does not touch all these points, and further to say that the fair curve is the most important, which meant that I had to slightly move a few points. I went with the fair curve while staying as close as possible to the points. Does this seem like the right way to go? I was extremely careful in measuring and could find no mistakes.
