Hi,

As you're looking at the "drill-fill-drill" idea, I assume that you're trying to attach something like the Yakima foot braces... When I attached my foot braces, I avoided the whole "thru-hull" dilemma by securing the braces onto strips of 1/2 inch marine plywood using counter-sunk "t nuts" (And no... The following is not an endorsement! It's just a picture... http://www.stafast.com/products/tnuts.html)

Once the foot brace/plywood assemblies were ready I just secured them into the inside of the boat using gobs of epoxy... The end result is simple, secure, looks quite nice, and strengthens the hull considerably...

I'm building the Mill Creek 13, and probably have made a mistake at every build stage... But gluing the foot braces into place worked EXTREMELY well for me...

If you want pictures of the final assembly, I can provide them... alan_speakman@hotmail.com.
