Carving your own seat

Posted by Robert N Pruden on Dec 3, 2005

The seat will be the most comfortable seat you will sit on. You can also build a S&G seat and line it with closed-call foam that is just as comfortable. Some guys have made their own seats using spray foams like Great Stuff. They sprayed it into garbage bags and sat on the bags to shape their best sides to the foam. Once the foam cured they removed the bag then carved the foam to fit the boat then lined it with closed-cell foam. There are many possibilities, all you need is a little knowledge to sort out how to make one of them happen.

Hope this helps.
